Technical malfunctions refer to Skydio hardware or software malfunctions that are a primary cause of a flight incident. This category includes things like propeller hub failures, in-flight loss of power, and collision avoidance failures. Collisions with thin obstacles, such as branches or wires, are the most significant driver in this category and are treated as technical malfunctions regardless of operator behavior. We are constantly working on our hardware and software to reduce the occurrence of these events.

Updates on known technical malfunctions are communicated through Notice to Operators (NTOs).
