OKCPD uses drone to locate a man who was attacked in a ravine
A wheelchair bound man was attacked and thrown into a ravine behind a hotel in Oklahoma City and officers were able to locate the man with the help of a drone’s thermal camera. When OKCPD responded to the assault they immediately deployed their Skydio X2 with thermal capabilities to find the attacked man within minutes, rushing him to a nearby hospital. - ravine. Now, two men have been arrested for murder.
- 39-year-old Marcus Moore died from his injuries after being found assaulted
- behind
- a hotel. It happened on April 2nd near the Plaza
- Inn at
- Southeast 29th and Prospect. Oklahoma City Police released
- this drone video today, and you can see the officers searching for
- the
- victim after that assault. Officers then helped Moore with his
- injuries before he was carried away and rushed to a hospital.
- Investigators say the drone was a necessary tool in their search for
- that
- victim.
- This was a heavily wooded area, uh, where it's unknown how deep
- that ravine is, and so we can utilize a piece of
- technology to help look for us,
- not to mention that the drone is able to see things
- that sometimes the naked eye
- is not.
- The victim died in a hospital earlier today.
- Two men have been arrested. Christopher Canada and Jamie Jack
- have both been booked into the jail on murder complaints.
