Integration Summary
FireFLY™ LE from Crime Gun Intelligence Technologies (CGIT) is a passive,
transportable gunshot detection system that detects, classifies, and geolocates hostile-fire events in real time. Originally derived from technology developed to protect U.S. forces in combat, FireFLY LE has been adapted specifically for public safety, providing law enforcement agencies with accurate, actionable intelligence that supports rapid
response and evidence-driven investigations.
When integrated with Skydio's Drone as First Responder (DFR) platform, FireFLY alerts can automatically cue aerial response to provide officers and command staff with immediate situational awareness following a gunfire event.
- Accelerated response times – A Skydio drone can launch quickly after receiving a FireFLY alert, helping agencies get eyes on scene faster and begin assessing conditions before officers arrive.
- Faster scene assessment – Operators can use live aerial video to evaluate the incident location, look for people or vehicles of interest, and identify hazards that could affect the response.
- Real-time visibility for responding teams – Live drone video can be streamed via ReadyLink, giving command staff and responding officers a shared view of what is happening on scene.
- Stronger incident documentation – By arriving quickly and capturing video from the earliest moments of a response, Skydio drones can help agencies preserve critical context that may no longer be available by the time ground units arrive.
