Meet Skydio Controller 2: Bigger, Brighter, Built for the Field

A brighter display, flexible 5G connectivity, improved ergonomics and one familiar flight experience across X10, X10D and R10 help operators stay focused wherever the mission goes.

Drone missions rarely stay in one place. Operators move from direct sunlight into low-light or nighttime conditions, switch aircraft as the work requires, and spend long days in the field.

Shaped by operator feedback, Controller 2 brings Skydio Flight Deck to a new handheld controller for X10, X10D and R10, with a 7-inch sunlight-readable display, 5G control, a more ergonomic design, customizable physical controls, and more than 5 hours battery life.

A clearer view of the mission

Operators need to keep track of live video, maps, telemetry, and mission information at the same time. Controller 2 gives them more room to work with a 7-inch sunlight-readable display.

The larger screen keeps more of the mission visible at once, whether the operator is navigating around infrastructure, equipment, buildings, or other complex environments.

And when more people need to see what the aircraft sees, HDMI-out screen mirroring and wireless screencasting can extend the live view to another display for coordination, training, demonstrations, or real-time review. That keeps the pilot focused on the aircraft while giving the broader team visibility into the mission.

Ready for long days in the field

Controller 2 provides more than 5 hours and 45 minutes of battery life and carries an IP55 rating for field use.

At a command-post table or between flights, an integrated kickstand keeps the display in view while pilots review maps or coordinate the next mission. Protected control sticks make transport easier, while routed ports and cable management keep the setup organized from one flight to the next.

Customizable physical controls let operators put frequently used Flight Deck functions where they want them, keeping important actions close at hand during flight.

Choose your network

Controller 2 supports a swappable 5G SIM and Bring Your Own Plan (BYOP), giving teams more control over which cellular network they use.

Organizations can use an approved carrier that already fits their network strategy or switch carriers when coverage changes from one location to another.

That keeps low-latency 5G control available without tying operations to a single carrier.

One common flight experience

X10, X10D and R10 share the same Skydio Flight Deck experience on Controller 2. Operators can move between aircraft without changing interfaces or workflows. That continuity matters when a mission crosses environments or calls for a different aircraft. Teams can train on one operating experience and carry it across more of their work.

Controller 2 also connects operators to their organization’s Skydio Command software for purpose-built missions, including asset-based inspection, ISR, security, and response workflows.

Availability

Controller 2 ships with all new Skydio X10, X10D and R10 purchases. It is also compatible with existing aircraft already in the field and can be ordered separately. For X10D, a specific Microhard (MH) radio version is available.

Add Controller 2 to your fleet.
