This week we’re getting to know one of the raddest Skydio Featured Flyers. Amber Torrealba is known for her super slick skimboarding skills and her kickass edits. Her athletic ability combined with her creative skills has made her the perfect Skydio 2 user and one of our most prolific Skydio Featured Flyers.
Hey Amber! Tell us a little bit about who you are and some of your proudest accomplishments.
My name is Amber Torrealba, and I’m a Filmmaker and 3x Vic World Champion Skimboarder from Palm Bay, Florida. I left my corporate career and traditional path after college to move across the country to fully pursue my passions, and I’ve been grateful for the experiences and places those choices have led me on.
Why did you decide to partner with Skydio?
As the producer, director and editor of my films, having my Skydio 2 is a crucial part of the production line up to bring my ideas to life. I always know that I can have it follow me around to get key shots and supporting shots while I’m focusing on directing or riding.
What is your favorite activity to pair with your Skydio 2?
I love having the Skydio follow me and my crew on skimboarding hikes and sessions. I can fully trust it in various terrains, and this year I was even able to capture a whale breaching on Skydio.
What is your favorite video that you've shot with your Skydio 2, what do you love about it?
Tough to just choose one shoot, but the footage I captured at this iconic skateboard pump track in California was so symmetrically rad from above, and the beaches in Cabo are my favorite because of the landscape, clear seas and insane rocks and arches.
What is your favorite Skydio Skill, Tip or Trick?
I love using the motion track feature to have it follow me and the rocket feature to reveal where I am from above.
Anything else you would like to share?
Skydio always finds a way to capture something that stokes me out, especially when it can dodge so many obstacles and still get the shot!
