Knoxville PD used drones at UT vs. Georgia game to help with gameday security

Synopsis

Knoxville Police Department (KPD) used its Drone as First Responder (DFR) program to improve public safety and traffic management during the University of Tennessee vs. Georgia football game. With Skydio autonomous drones and a Skydio Dock stationed on campus, officers gained real-time aerial awareness to monitor crowds, manage traffic flow, and support emergency response. The same technology that helps KPD locate missing persons and support critical incidents is now transforming how they secure large public events, bringing faster insights, safer responses, and smarter operations to every mission.
