About the role:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and technically capable entry level IT Technician to help support the wide range of technology requirements associated with developing and deploying state-of-the-art autonomous systems in a fast-paced startup environment. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem solving, working directly with people, and growing their technical skills across mac, windows, and linux systems. You’ll play a hands-on role in supporting onboarding, troubleshooting, inventory, user access, and AV support all within a fast paced cloud first environment using Google Workspace, Okta, and JumpCloud.

You’ll also help transform how our team uses Freshservice - enhancing workflows, expanding automation through the Service Bot, and building out our knowledge base to drive self-service and reduce ticket volume.

Location: This is an office-based position that requires 5 days/week onsite, with 2 days at our Hayward location and 3 days at our Clearview (San Mateo HQ) location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line technical support across mac, windows, and linux environments
  • Perform daily conference room AV sweeps to test, maintain, and troubleshoot conference room equipment, TV’s, microphones, and other AV hardware
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup, laptop provisioning, and application access
  • Maintain and improve our Freshservice platform by:
    • Enhancing workflow automations
    • Expanding the Service Bot’s capabilities
    • Creating and updating knowledge base articles
  • Manage and track hardware inventory, diagnose basic hardware issues, and coordinate warranty/repair processes
  • Assist with JumpCloud device enrollment and compliance
  • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, printer, conference rooms, and general connectivity issues
  • Contribute to internal training (IT University sessions) and documentation initiatives
  • Escalate complex issues when needed and ensure a helpful, respectful user experience

What makes you a strong fit:

    • You genuinely enjoy helping people and know how to stay calm and friendly, even under pressure - you’ll often be the face of IT, so professionalism and positive attitude are a must
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, you’re approachable, patient, and know how to explain technical issues in a way that makes sense to non-technical people
    • Experienced in macOS, Windows OS, and Linux (must)
    • Google Workspace Enterprise Administration experience is strongly preferred
    • Knowledge and experience with industry standard automation/configuration management tools, open source technologies, and cloud services (AWS, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
    • Strong attention to detail and ownership of AV systems, including daily conference room sweeps
    • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations for always-up, always-available services
    • Experience as a Linux/Unix administrator is preferred
    • Okta/Universal Directory/SSO/MFA experience preferred
    • CompTIA A+, Google IT Support certification, or experience with Freshservice
