About the role:
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll own key aspects of the revenue recognition process—ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and ASC 606 across our hardware, software, SaaS, and service offerings. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners, support monthly close processes, and drive improvements to systems and processes. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Revenue. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring you to be onsite at our headquarters three days per week.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606.
- Review contracts to identify performance obligations, allocate standalone selling prices, and assess variable consideration.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company’s order-to-cash cycle to identify revenue implications and process improvements.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, and other stakeholders on deal reviews, structuring, and bookings.
- Prepare and review revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly close reports.
- Monitor unbilled accounts receivable and deferred revenue balances, investigate and resolve any unusual items.
- Review and book commission accruals and amortization entries in accordance with ASC 340.
- Perform detailed revenue analyses, including customer trends, deferred revenue rollforwards, and RPO balances.
- Perform revenue allocations, contract modifications, and prospective modification analyses as needed.
- Support revenue forecasting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc reporting.
- Collaborate with ERP, RevOps, and FP&A teams to optimize systems workflow and robust reporting solutions
- Drive process improvements and support new system implementations, NPIs, and global expansion.
- Assist with external audits by preparing revenue-related schedules and disclosures.
What makes you a good fit:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in revenue accounting (ideally in tech or SaaS).
- Deep understanding of ASC 606 and ASC 340.
- Experience with ERP and revenue systems (e.g., NetSuite ARM, SFDC, SPIFF).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Passion for improving processes and leveraging automation in complex environments.

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000*.
