About the Role:

As a Commercial Solutions Engineer at Skydio, you’ll play a critical role at the intersection of technology, customer success, and revenue growth. Our customers span a wide range of industries—from utilities and critical infrastructure to emergency response, physical security, and beyond. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities where autonomous drones can unlock meaningful insights and transform operations.

In this role, you will be a key technical partner throughout the sales process, working alongside Account Executives to design solutions that address complex customer problems. Your impact continues well after the deal closes: Solutions Engineers guide customers through onboarding, implementation, expansion, and long-term program success. Internally, you’ll collaborate closely with product teams, providing direct field feedback to influence product direction and ensure Skydio continues to meet the evolving needs of our users. You are, in every sense, the voice of the customer.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • A strong motivation to support sales processes and contribute to revenue goals.

  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from drone pilots to senior executives.

  • A solutions-focused mindset, with experience translating complex use cases into operational workflows and scalable deployment practices.

  • Technical competence and a background in related fields such as aviation, engineering, computer science, software development, or hardware design.

What Makes You a Good Fit:

  • Experience in unmanned aircraft operation, design, development, or regulatory environments.

  • Experience in one or more of our core commercial segments (Utilities, AEC, Security, Oil and Gas)

  • Familiarity with integrations, REST-based APIs, or similar technologies.

  • Networking experience or certifications (e.g., CCNA).

  • Experience with GIS, photogrammetry, or survey/mapping workflows.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 70%

  • Ability to obtain required drone pilot certifications, including FAA Part 107 or local equivalents

  • Located West of Colorado

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs when needed.).

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $126,800- $158,500* + Comission.
