Clermont PD and LCSO catch fleeing burglary suspects
Synopsis
Clermont PD officers were dispatched after two masked individuals were seen pulling on car door handles—potentially attempting vehicle burglaries. While en route, officers learned the suspects had successfully broken into a vehicle and were fleeing the scene.
Officers launched a Drone as First Responder (DFR) to locate the suspects from the air. Using thermal imaging and working in coordination with Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) deputies and LCSO K9 Gunner, officers were able to track and apprehend both individuals.
This successful outcome highlights how DFR technology supports multi-agency coordination and enables faster, safer arrests—even when suspects are on the move.
