Eyes in the Sky: Miami's Drone First Responder Program Aids in Domestic Dispute Arrest

On November 11, 2025, City of Miami police officers responded to a domestic dispute where a man reportedly vandalized a window at his girlfriend's home. The drone first responder unit launched DFR11 a Skydio X10 drone, which arrived before patrol officers and quickly located the suspect as he tried to leave the area.

The drone kept eyes on the suspect the entire time, even as he attempted to change clothes to avoid being identified. Thanks to the real-time video and updates from DFR11, officers were able to safely approach and take the suspect into custody without further incident.
