Vanderbilt University PD improves campus security with DFR
Synopsis
At Vanderbilt University, public safety means protecting 12,000 students across a 300-acre campus during everyday operations and high-traffic moments like football games and commencement. Chief of Police and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Public Safety Tommye Sutton explains how Drone as First Responder helps their officers gain situational awareness faster, to help inform safer, more effective decisions.
Police Inspector and Chief Security Officer Patrick Conwell notes that this visibility also supports faster, clearer communication with the campus community, helping students, staff, and visitors protect themselves. Response times on campus have been reduced by several minutes to an average of 80 seconds since the program launched.
