About the role:

Skydio has an immediate opening for a seasoned sales executive to be a key driver of landing and expanding our business within allied national governments around the world. As Director of International Sales on Skydio’s Global Government team, you will lead existing field teams growing our business with allied national governments around the world. You will be responsible for expanding Skydio's international customer base from initial engagements to enduring technology programs and eventual Programs of Record. This role reports directly to the President of Global Government Business. 

How you'll make an impact:

  • Lead the development and execution of the sales strategy within Skydio's Global Government Vertical, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain close, trusted partner relationships with senior military and civilian allied Government customers, current and prospective clients, as well as industry partners and suppliers.
  • Sustain a culture of operational excellence within the Global Government sales organization. 
  • Support strategic account sales campaigns by building strong executive relationships.
  • Attract, develop and set up for success high-caliber sales and operations personnel.
  • Be an effective advocate internally to Skydio for the Global Government business.
  • Foster excellent working relationships with the global heads of our vertical segment sales with whom your team will operate within a matrixed organization.

What makes you a good fit:

  • 10+ years experience selling technologically sophisticated solutions to government customers and/or previous government service with experience adopting innovative technologies especially sUAS (small Unmanned Aerial Systems)
  • 5+ years experience as a senior sales leader.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop and lead high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to interact confidently with c-level customers and senior members of government departments and ministries.
  • Well-developed executive selling skills and the ability to model outcome-based sales practices.
  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a master’s degree preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the government acquisition processes, contracting vehicles, and structuring of hardware, software, and service contracts.
  • Experience working on research and development projects with innovation units and government labs supporting technology transitions to programs of record.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Compensation Range:  

The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $187,500* or an on target earnings (OTE) of $300,000 - $375,000 Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
