About the role:

The Skydio Manufacturing Team is looking to add an Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager to continue improving our Workplace safety and effectiveness. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to develop safety programs, coordinate training, and improve the overall factory organization. This is a new role for Skydio and applicants should be proactive self-starters who have experience collecting cross-functional requirements and building scalable processes in a manufacturing environment. 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Facility Coordination: Work closely with contractors and the Workplace Team to oversee facility upgrades and repairs, ensuring all projects meet safety standards and regulations.
  • Work Order Management: Review incoming work order requests, prioritizing based on urgency and resource availability. Ensure effective allocation of resources for timely completion.
  • Safety Program Development: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive safety programs and training materials tailored to the factory environment. Regularly update programs to reflect regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Evaluate the condition and performance of equipment to establish preventative maintenance schedules, reducing downtime and extending equipment life.
  • Chemical and Equipment Procurement: Review and approve purchase requests for new chemicals and equipment, ensuring compatibility with existing safety standards and operational needs.
  • Physical Security Evaluation: Assess and improve physical security measures to protect employees, assets, and sensitive information.
  • Event Coordination: Support and collaborate other teams to organize Employee Experience events and manage logistics for VIP visits, ensuring professional execution and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Supply Management: Oversee the management of Indirect Production Supply Materials, aiming to minimize costs and avoid production interruptions through strategic procurement and inventory control.
  • Hazardous Waste Disposal and Recycling: Develop and implement protocols for the safe disposal and recycling of hazardous waste materials, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainability.
  • Manage a team of 3-4 technicians to complete tasks and support production

What Makes You A Good Fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement safety programs and training materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite tools and EHS management software.

Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000-145,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
