About the Role:

As a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer at Skydio, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the wireless performance and reliability of our drones in high-volume production. Your work will center around developing and supporting automated RF test infrastructure across our global manufacturing footprint. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive at the intersection of software, hardware, and production-scale problem solving — with a specific passion for RF technologies like Cellular, WiFi, and GPS.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Develop and maintain scalable RF test systems for cellular, WiFi, and GPS validation in manufacturing.
  • Design and build robust test fixtures for functional and RF testing across multiple product lines.
  • Lead root cause analysis for test-related failures; drive corrective actions through data-driven insights.
  • Implement and optimize Python-based automation for manufacturing test software.
  • Define test coverage and validation strategies for new RF features and products.
  • Collaborate with design teams to tune test limits and ensure consistent performance across builds.
  • Monitor production test data to identify trends and proactively improve test robustness.

What Makes You a Good Fit:

  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing test engineering, with a strong focus on RF systems.
  • Proficient in Python for test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters)
  • Solid understanding of wireless technologies like LTE/5G, WiFi, and GPS.
  • Comfortable working with schematics, board bring-up, and basic electrical debugging.
  • Skilled in data analysis using tools like SQL, or minitab.
  • Experience designing and building custom test fixtures for production use.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, especially in diagnosing and resolving manufacturing test failures.

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $220,000*.
